Clinics by Design were excellent to deal with. They listened and turned what seemed a formidable task into an enjoyable and positive process. They delivered on every commitment they made to me. We were seeking to Fitout a premium location in Collins St, in the Melbourne CBD. Clinics by Design responded imaginatively to the brief to plan and Fitout a difficult space. They provided a full service from design, to build through to furnishing. We are delighted with the outcome, and look forward every day to walking into our offices.

It was a pleasure working with the team at Clinics by Design through all the stages of our project – concept, design, permit applications, build, and Fitout. Clinics by Design felt like a second family. All aspects of the clinic including access, compliance, workflow and practical aspects were discussed and reviewed many a time, in order to ensure everything made sense. Their willingness to finesse the smallest things, such as choosing just the right shade of white or grey, means that we have a truly beautiful clinic that is a pleasure to work at and our patients love. It was a complex process requiring co-ordination at multiple levels with many frustrating situations. Neale took full control. He was measured and gave us full confidence. In 2021 Clinics by Design helped me renovate a previous GP clinic into a specialist clinic. The existing practice was on a single dwelling in Ashburton with a medical permit and 8 car park spaces. The project involved gutting the entire inside, re-stumping, new ceilings, knocking out most walls, repainting the exterior facade and landscaping. Neale and Kostas were very knowledgeable, helpful and understood the needs of the clinic. The crew were professional and courteous. Emails and correspondences were promptly attended to. Planning took 5 months (floor plan drafts, choosing materials, contracts drafted and agreed upon after legal assessment, getting council approval), and the Fitout took 4 months. The clinic was operational on time, and all of this was achieved in a pandemic year. The finishing was excellent both inside and outside. Clinics by Design understood the IT, aesthetic, furniture and lighting requirements of medical clinics. The staff and patients are all very happy with the end result. While I am certain they will not be the cheapest Fitout firm in Melbourne, the fact they are competent, efficient and can deliver reduced a lot of hassle for me as a busy specialist. For this reason, they have my unreserved recommendation.

Starting a new business was a stressful time for my wife and I, but once CBD got involved it made a world of difference. Joining us for a plethora of potential site visits, Neale and Cheryl were there helping every step of the way. Then enter Kostas, Matej, Max, and the entire team at CBD for the Fitout! They all took such care and pride in their work and that's evident in the final product. We can’t thank the team enough and we’re so grateful CBD allowed us to be a part of their family these last 6 months.

Clinics by Design provided a start-to-finish service from planning and design to completion of the project. Neale Cooper, director of Clinics by Design, was hands on from start to finish. His insight and attention to detail reflected experience and expertise in the operational requirements of a medical centre. From the design stage, through the construction to the post-handover period, Neale and his team remained responsive to any queries or issues that arose. Neale’s design and construction team executed the project in a timely manner. Unexpected issues that arose were dealt handled with a minimum of fuss, and variations due to unexpected changes were reasonable. Administrative matters were also smoothly handled by the administrative staff. Overall, the service provided by Clinics by Design enabled us to get through a potentially stressful project in a smooth and reassured manner, with an excellent outcome. We would unreservedly recommend their services.

We recently completed a major dental practice renovation with Clinics by Design, led by Neale Cooper. While the project ran significantly over time and budget, I want to acknowledge both the challenges and the positives. The building threw up plenty of unexpected issues—leaks, asbestos, and previous poor renovations—but Neale’s experience and problem-solving approach were invaluable. He never defaulted to “it can’t be done”—he always looked for a solution, and that gave me confidence throughout the process. Rob Littlejohn, our site manager, was excellent—reliable, proactive, and calm under pressure. He played a big part in keeping things moving and ensuring the quality of the build. We had to stay operational and see patients through the renovation. That was tough, but Rob and the team did everything they could to minimise disruption. Their tradespeople were respectful, professional, and easy to deal with—far from the usual tradie stereotype. The end result is a high-quality renovation I’m proud of. The after-care has been great, and I’m confident the practice will benefit from this for many years to come. Despite the delays, I’m happy with the overall experience and grateful for a great outcome.
