Berwick Clyde Vet

The Berwick Clyde Vet is the second project of Dr Nagaich and Dr Lavell-Fry working together to produce a state-of-the art small animal hospital.

The vision of Dr Nagaich and Dr. Lavelle-Fry is to provide a vet that is a primary care practice, providing the entire range of veterinary services to small animal patients.   The project is a custom-built veterinary practice equipped with the latest tools and technology and a caring, competent team that will provide the highest level of veterinary care.

Project Overview

Project Objectives

The design brief was for the ‘cold shell’ building to be transformed into a state-of-the art small animal hospital.

As a minimum the practice was to house 4x consulting rooms and a min of 2 x wet tables in the treatment room.  The ambiance was to elude a calm crisp environment for patient comfort and employee well-being.  The design was to be patient-focused and to ensure all latest technology to ensure the best patient care.

The vet practice was to comply with all relevant regulations and safety standards and to engage energy-efficient and sustainable design elements where possible.

Our in-house design team worked closely with the owners and produced a collaborative design that encapsulated the following:

The Fit Out Process

The project was carefully managed by our Project Manager who has many decades of experience under his belt.  The work was performed by our in-house dedicated employees and not contractors.

Careful consideration is given to the project schedule to ensure there is minimal disruption for anything unforseen. The Project Manager pays close consideration to Occupational Health and Safety aspects for worker and visitor safety.

All the design plans are available to all workers on site in paper and digital copies, As the design is created in-house, they are always available to advise at any time.

Site Managers and site staff are highly qualified and their workmanship is second to none. Their understanding of the veterinary environment allow them to create a workplace/clinic that will exceed expectations.

Handover

It is an exciting time when a handover occurs.

Reflection

The successful design and fit out of the ‘cold shell’ building to transform the blank space into a purpose-built small animal hospital is a testament to how planning, design, project management and tradesman skill can create a successful project.

The team at Berwick Clyde Vet have a vision for veterinary excellence and will benefit all local small animals and their owners.  Their vision and investment into the local area reflects their moral values and ethics towards animal care.  This purpose built facility is a testament of clients and builders working collaboratively to produce a first class clinic.
